Turmeric (Ground)

  • Regarded as the “Spice of Life” in India for its wide use in everything from cooking to medicine, the importance of turmeric has only recently gained attention in the US for its potential disease fighting compound called curcumin.

With the bite of ginger, and hint of pepper and orange, our ground turmeric from India has a deep yellow color and rich flavor for mixing into curries, Southeast Asian stir-fries, and all sorts of rice, potato, and egg dishes.  Click on the "Recipe Ideas" tab to find out more.

If you would like to learn more about turmeric - and its main compound curcumin - explore our article "Spices Unearthed: Turmeric"

  • Try our ground turmeric in simple egg dishes like an Egg Salad Sandwich.  Or in Southeast Asian inspired dishes like our recipes for Rice Noodle Salad with Spicy Lemongrass Dressing, and Moroccan Chermoula-Spiced Chicken.  Or try the "Spice of Life" in a tea mixed with a little sugar and lime juice.
