Cinnamon, Chinese (Ground)

    • About as spicy and sweet as our Vietnamese cinnamon, but with a deeper, more complex flavor, our Chinese cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia*) will not only give a rich cinnamon flavor to your favorite desserts, but also add a refreshingly, spicy taste to soups & stews. Click on the "Recipe Ideas" tab to find out more.

We offer our Chinese cinnamon in ground form, or in stick form (hand-selected to ensure you receive the highest quality product).

*In the US, because of the similarities in flavor, we generally recognize four distinct types of cinnamon: Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum), Indonesian cinnamon (C. Burmannii), Chinese cinnamon (C. Cassia), and Vietnamese/Saigon cinnamon (C. Loureiroi). However, only Ceylon cinnamon is true cinnamon, i.e. bark from a cinnamon tree. The remaining “cinnamon” types are actually bark from cassia trees, which have a higher essential oil content, giving them a more pronounced flavor and aroma than true cinnamon.  If you would like to learn more, explore our article "Spices Unearthed: Cinnamon & Cassia"
    • Try sprinkling our ground Chinese cinnamon onto Baked Granny Smith Apples or a Summer Berries Parfait.
