Savory, but fruity, with a refreshingly spicy, earthy flavor that pleasantly lingers on the taste buds, our Marash Chili Flakes are a must-have for making Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes, and a wonderful addition on the breakfast table for sprinkling over fried eggs, and for later in the day over salads, soups, sauces, and stir-fries.
Marash Chili Flakes are cultivated in Turkey (originally named after the town of Maraş, which is now referred to as Kahranmanmaraş), where they are sun-dried, stemmed and seeded, and finally crushed into appetizing flakes. They are similar in taste and appearance to Aleppo Chili Flakes, but with an oilier texture and slightly sweeter flavor. And like Aleppo, they are perfect for making simple dips with olive oil, or combined with sumac berry powder and mixed into hummus and Greek yogurt style dips.
